Learning objectiveThe Hazardous Materials/WMD Incident Response: Awareness student, upon successful completion of this course, shall be able to:

1) Describe the role of awareness level personnel in a hazardous materials/WMD incident and identify related training requirements.

2) Identify and describe the important laws, standards and regulations that apply to hazardous materials/WMD initial response.

3)Identify the hazard class and, if possible, the product name of hazardous materials/WMD found at an emergency scene.

4)Apply principles and define terminology to ensure personal safety.

5)Identify the characteristics which may involve hazardous materials/WMD in terrorist activities.
DescriptionThis course meets the objectives of NFPA 472, 2008 edition and OSHA 29 CFR1910.120.
