DescriptionThis self-directed learning experience focuses on screening for Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD) and how to make referrals for families living with ASD. This module is the second in a series that have been developed by the Central Missouri Rapid Response Team. Information provided in this module includes, an overview of ASD and screening for ASD. You will become familiar with general development and domain-specific screening tools and ASD-specific screening tools along with resources for referring families of children with ASD.

Dr. Janet Farmer is the Director of Academic Programs at the MU Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders. She is a Professor of Health Psychology in the School of Health Professions and Professor of Child Health in the School of Medicine. Dr. Farmer served as one of four members of the Project Leadership Team for the Missouri Autism Guidelines Initiative on Screening, Diagnosis and Assessment. Additionally, she is a member of the Missouri Commission on Autism Spectrum Disorders.
